Prilep (native: Прилеп) is found in
the center of the south part of Republic of Macedonia. It is
situated in the Prilep Field which is contained in the north
part of the largest ravine in Macedonia and that is Pelagonija.
The city has 620 – 650 m altitude above sea level. Prilep takes
space of 511.97 km sqr. In that space live 73 925 citizens 69
888 of which live in the city. The most of the citizens are
Macedonians (64 527), and besides them there are Gypsies, Serbians,
Turkish, and small number of citizens that belong to other nationality.
Prilep is respected and big political – administrative, cultural
– educational scientist and commercial center in Macedonia.
Prilep is the city of the tobacco and one of the most quality
mermer producers. It is the city with rich history, national
proud, many patriots. Prilep designated as heroic town. |
