Radovis (native: Радовиш) is situated on the Southeast part of
Macedonia. It is connected with regional roads with Skopje (about 130 km away)
and Strumica that is 30 km on the south.
Situated on the footsteps of the beautiful mountain Plackovica and across the
Strumica valley, Radovis is influenced by Mediterranean climate and has many
favorable periods during the year. This is particularly important for the
agriculture. Radovis is known by its paprika and tobacco. This is one of the
rare places in the world where oriental types of tobacco are grown and its know
by the production (about 4000 tons per year) of the best quality oriental type
of tobacco "Jaka". This is tobacco that gives the flavor to the most popular
and the best cigarettes in the world.
